Our yearly apple picking endeavor. We have been to this farm before and chose it again this year. We liked that the drive isn’t too far from NYC (less than an hour drive) and that the apples were low enough for children to reach and pick on their own. Not to mention, their vegetables, berries and eggs are certified organic, as well as one third of their orchard.

Their apple cider donuts (not pictured) are the best we have ever had. You can take it home with the sugar cinnamon coating or without. They are both amazing, not too sweet and super fluffy and it’s just perfection, especially when you get to take home a freshly baked batch. The first time we went, we took home half a dozen- this time, we brought home two dozens to share with our families!
Do you have a favorite place close to New York City for Apple Picking? Any tips for families who plan to go? I think next time, we will try to bring a fruit grabber/basket to pick the apples on top of the trees where we couldn’t reach.
